From March 17 to 19, the 29th Food Ingredients China (FIC2026) was grandly held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). As the largest and most influential benchmark event in Asia's food additives and ingredients sector, this edition brought together nearly 1,600 leading enterprises from home and abroad and attracted more than 150,000 professional visitors.

A One-Stop Platform for Supplier Comparison and Resource Integration
Walking through the exhibition halls, the most intuitive impression is the coexistence of comprehensiveness and specialization. On one hand, mass-volume basic ingredients such as citric acid, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate and glucose syrup were displayed on a large scale; on the other, high-value-added functional products including plant protein, probiotics, dietary fibre and natural antioxidants were presented in dedicated areas. For practitioners engaged in foreign trade, this one-stop aggregation greatly improves the efficiency of supplier comparison and resource integration.
Global Participation and Growing Chinese Market Share
The international pavilions gathered overseas exhibitors from dozens of countries and regions, while a large number of professional buyers from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas attended for business negotiations. From these exchanges, it is clear that Chinese food ingredients continue to increase their share in the global market. In particular, Chinese companies have built significant cost and scale advantages in bulk categories such as citric acid, potassium sorbate, xanthan gum, monosodium glutamate and vitamin C.

A Mirror of Industry Transformation
FIC2026 is not just an industry gala, but also a mirror reflecting the transformation of the sector. From here, we can clearly see the firm steps of China's food ingredients industry shifting from scale-driven growth to innovation-driven development, from product export to solution output, and from Made in China to Chinese brands. For every practitioner in this field, embracing change, continuous learning and deepening professional expertise are the best ways to cope with future uncertainties.
